Post Transition Supports

The ministry assists and supports the transition to adulthood for youth in Care who turn 19 years old. Among desired transitions is employment, further education or training.

Two programs that support youth transitioning from Care are Agreements with Young Adults (AYA) and Youth Education Assistance Fund (YEAF).

Agreements with Young Adults can provide 48 months of support and assistance when a Young Adult aged 19-26 wants to attend an educational (may include high school completion) or vocational training program; and/or take part in a rehabilitative or life skills program.
