Adoption Services

Adoption Services find permanent care for children and youth who cannot return to the care of their birth parents and provide reunification supports for those who have been involved in a BC adoption and are searching for their birth families.

How are we doing?

Adoption Services support the practice of ministry social workers and Aboriginal agency staff who carry out adoption and permanency planning responsibilities for children and youth in care.

Adoption Services license and monitor the placement practice of non-profit agencies that provide domestic and foreign adoption services in BC, ensuring those services follow the provincial Adoption Act and the legal requirements for inter-country adoptions.

Adoption Services operate several post-adoption registries that provide services to the public.
