Case Data and Trends

This section provides caseload information for specialized services and funding programs for children and youth with support needs and their families, including CYSN Family Services, Autism Funding Program, At Home Program, and Provincial Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services.

¹ There are a small number of cases where the Service Delivery Area (SDA) cannot be determined; these cases are included in the British Columbia (BC) count, but not in the SDA counts. Because of this, SDA counts may not sum to the BC count.

² The number of CYSN Family Service cases have decreased in the North Coast/Bulkley Nechako and Okanagan West Kootenay SDAs because they are part of the new CYSN service approach pilot areas.

Autism Funding Program

¹ This count does not include children who only accessed items provided through the Product Distribution Centre and does not include children and youth in care who may access Medical Benefits, such as dental and optical.

¹ Respite caseload consists of the number of children and youth with an open CYSN Family Services case who are eligible for At Home respite

Provincial Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (PDHHS)

¹ Deaf Youth Development statistics reflect total number of children/youth attending camps during summer programming. Some children/youth may be double counted as they attended multiple camps. March 2021 and March 2022 show a lower than typical client count due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

² Mental Health and Addictions statistics reflect unique client numbers – some clients receive multiple services. Clients can be children, youth, adults and family members.
